【英文摘要】Due to the non-semantic and non-formative nature of music,there has beenrare theory of how the boundary between the themes and the elements ofmusic should be defined.Music is the artistic phenomenon to express theemotion and the mood.Therefore,the theme and the element of music shouldbe defined as emotion,intention and artistic conception.Certain piece ofmusic is comparatively independent but not a integrity is called emotion.The direction of notes implying can be defined as intention.The twotogether construct the vague feeling which can not be clearly expressedwith language is the mood. 【关键词】emotion/intention/mood/music theme/element

    我认为，在当下庞大的艺术家族中，有四个门类堪称为“原艺术”，因为像原色一样 ，它们彼此结合可以构成其他的艺术门类，如戏剧、曲艺、影视艺术等等，而其他艺术 门类却不能融合成它们，这就是音乐、美术、舞蹈、文学。艺术之所以能够分类，就在 于拥有不同的存在形态和价值，即“用什么、做什么、成什么”的本体区别使之彼此不 能取代。而艺术学基础理论建设，要实现从一般文艺理论(即文学理论)中的剥离，其实 践基础和言说根据，就在于客观的、科学的认识并研究原艺术鲜活的个性、独特的创作 规律。
　　目前，从国内各种“艺术概论”文本看，对文学为“本”的艺术现象(如戏剧、影视艺 术等)，分析的相对充分；对非文学性艺术活动的学理研究，明显薄弱，尤其是对非语 义性和非造型性的纯音乐。音乐，是最典型的抒情艺术。对它独有的感性材料(即带有 特定音色的旋律、节奏、和声等构成的听觉对象)，理论界早已经形成共识。然而，它 的题材及要素应怎样界说，一直属于被艺术学基础理论注意到、却研究不到的尴尬领域 。
